If you’ve a mind to rejuvenate your growing room, or just revel in the finest living art and design of the year, what you need is a flower show, and the Hampton Court Flower Show is definitely the one not to miss, because it’s the biggest in the world, showcasing the best design ideas and cutting-edge concepts you’ll find anywhere.

With travel, accommodation, free time in London, dinner and breakfast, this Omega short break is perfect, but be warned, you may find yourself with an uncontrollable urge to put on wellies and dig big holes.

Day 1: Take the morning train to London from your local station (please see the rail grid opposite), and on arrival make your way to the 4 star Tower Guoman Hotel for check in and free time before the first of two nights stay (nearest tube stop Tower Bridge).

Day 2: Armed with an excellent continental breakfast we travel by coach to Hampton Court Palace. There are hundreds of the UK's best nurseries in the floral marquees. There are concept gardens galore. There’s a Festival of Roses in the Rose Marquee. There is an exuberance of art, some of it edible. There’s a 2013 creative Scarecrow Competition, a Hampton Court Grapevine Show and a Celebrity of the Day question and answer spot. The Take Hampton Home displays will show you how to do ingenious things even on a modest budget, and they can supply whatever materials you need. Pergolas, lawnmowers, stone, bamboo, greenhouses, ponds, barbecues, sundials, fountains - gift or gadget, if it’s garden-related it’s at the Hampton Court Flower Show. You can even grow your own royal plants using seeds taken directly from Buckingham Palace Gardens. By the time we return to the hotel for your second night’s stay you’ll find all sorts of ideas have taken root and started to sprout.

Day 3: Breakfast and then some free time to explore some of those famous monuments, museums and historic sites that in London are practically one street in any direction. Make your way to the station for your train in the late afternoon /early evening.
